the region and even outside Romania:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Plescoi sausages<\/strong>  &#8211; Romania&#8217;s most famous sausage &#8211; traditionally made from sheep.<\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Babic<\/strong> &#8211; a spicy salami &#8211; featured in the food catalogue TasteAtlas as one of the best salami (#15 best rated salami worldwide)<\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Wines from Dealu Mare <\/strong>&#8211; one of the best wine regions in Romania<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Furthermore, Buzau Valley and Dealu Mare are well known its <strong>fruit orchards<\/strong> and the Barragan plain for its large <strong>vegetable cultivation<\/strong>. The city of Buzau hosts the <strong>Vegetable&nbsp;Research&nbsp;and Development&nbsp;Station<\/strong>. The innovative institute has an inventory of more than 20,000 plant genotypes, including vegetables, herbs and medicinal plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The forests of Buzau County are a <strong>centre of biodiversity<\/strong> and host wild animals, mushrooms, truffles and medicinal herbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Artisanal food production<\/strong> is still at the beginning, but many small producers and guest-houses appeared in the last years and transformed Buzau into an upcoming Slow Food Travel destination.
