How we work
Slow Food Community Buzau Land is a non-profit interest group that is open to all people that are interested in good, clean and fair food. We organize monthly informal meetings and socializing events in one of our member locations. Here we present results of our work, exchange ideas, plan future activities and have dinner together. The socialising events are announed public via Social Media, a fee for the dinner needs to be paid directly to the organizer/ location owner.
Everyone who identifies with Slow Food’s values and wants to work personally to spread them and put them into practice can belong to our community. Slow Food community is based on a group of individuals. Most of our members represent an agricultural or artisanal food business, are owners of local restaurants or guest-houses or represent associations and educational institutions.
The membership is free of costs. A yearly donation to support the work of Slow Food International – individually agreed – is expected.
For specific topics we have working groups (e.g. Slow Food Education, Promotion of artisanal products) that meet regular.
Specific promotion activities (e.g. website presentation, company listing) are individually agreed through cost sharing or cost contribution between the participating companies. Please note that we only promote businesses that fulfil minimum criteria according to Slow Food Principles. We also welcome members whose businesses do not yet meet the criteria but who plan to improve and adapt their business to become more sustainable (e.g. restaurants that want to introduce a Slow Food concept).

A lot success stories could already be reached during our short existence (e.g. substantial sales increase for some producers through introducing their products in locations of our members)
